I started my career in technology then spent several years in media and content commerce. When I saw consumer brands using digital media to tell their stories and win customers, I realized that leveraging my experience to help brands presented a unique opportunity. I like founders who know what’s important to them. As an investor, my job is to support you and get comfortable on your terms and in your style – not the other way round.”

Andrew was one of the earliest investors in content commerce and online brand building. He founded Ore Ventures to back tech-enabled, consumer and next generation media companies, including Lively, The Athletic, (Microsoft owned) Mixer and Jellysmack. Previously, he worked at Advancit Capital, a media-focused investment fund, and served in operating roles at several media start-ups and growth-stage companies. He received his BBA from the George Washington University School of Business.

Anna worked at VMG on investments including; Quest Nutrition, Drunk Elephant, and Spindrift, and also at Tribeca Venture Partners and Credit Suisse. Forbes named Anna 30 Under 30: Venture Capital for 2021, Entrepreneur magazine named Anna among its 100 Powerful Women of 2020, and Business Insider has named Anna a 30 and Under: Rising Star in Venture. Anna is the founder of Rad Ladies, a network of top female founders, and actively serves on the Board of the Vinetta Project’s New York Chapter. She received her BA in Philosophy Politics and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Arpon worked at Centerview, a private equity firm founded by Jim Kilts, who ran Nabisco and turned around Gillette. He also worked at GCM Grosvenor working in consumer & technology private equity and was also an investment banker at Wells Fargo Securities serving global consumer goods firms, including Heinz, Dole and others. Arpon earned his MBA from Columbia Business School and his B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University.

“I’ve been fascinated by consumer products all my life.

I’ll try the samples, ride the delivery trucks, go on sales calls and bring in advisors, anything to understand and make the most of an opportunity. When I travel with my kids, I drive them crazy by taking them round local supermarkets to see what’s on the shelves. The joy is in finding great teams with a great product and figuring out the puzzle to help them succeed.”

Franklin opened the US office for Verlinvest, a European-based fund, where he worked on a dozen investments including Vita Coco, Sir Kensington and Oatly. He worked in strategy at Diageo and brand marketing at LVMH, and was a consultant at BCG and an investment banker at UBS serving consumer product and retail clients. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School, a BA from Trinity College, Dublin, and a Diploma from Sciences Po in Paris.

After graduating with a major in economics and a minor in finance, Caroline spent three years at Morgan Stanley. There she focused on helping large consumer corporations in the food and beauty sectors modernize their offerings to appeal to the new consumer. It was while advising Mars on their acquisition of Nom Nom that Caroline witnessed Coefficient’s investment strategy from the other side. By deepening her focus to work with smaller companies that are reinventing their categories, she looks forward to making a real difference in the early stages of their growth.

“I have always been passionate about understanding consumer brands, their stories and how they connect to the always evolving consumer. There is almost a magic in what makes a brand special and truly resonate with a consumer, and the nuances of how brands adapt to irreversible shifts in consumer behavior. It is this magic that makes me excited to partner with companies in building their brand.

I was initially drawn to the Coefficient team because of our shared passion for consumer businesses and the data-driven approach to identifying enduring consumer shifts. I am excited by the team’s differentiated ability to recognize disruptive consumer brands in emerging areas of growth and support them along their journeys.

Helen joins the Coefficient team from Morgan Stanley, where she spent three years in investment banking in the Consumer & Retail group focused on large scale consumer M&A and IPOs. She graduated from New York University where she studied Finance and Accounting.

Dan is the founder of The New Consumer, Coefficient’s partner in our long-running Consumer Trends reports series — which he also presents regularly at conferences like Fortune’s Brainstorm Tech. He’s a longtime business journalist and media entrepreneur, focused on technology and its effects across the consumer landscape. After starting his career at Forbes, he helped create Business Insider in 2007 as its second hire. More recently, he was the Editor-in-Chief of Recode, Vox Media’s business and tech publication. Dan graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

“After working in hospitality and in the restaurant industry, I know how important it is to be collaborative and adaptive in the moment, and to understand people’s needs before they’re vocalized.

It’s also part of being about part of a team — something I loved during my time working in event production and as a college athlete. I’m thrilled to have joined one that is so encouraging and collaborative.”

As Coefficient’s Operations Manager, Chloe Kantor puts her experience helping to run one of New York’s best restaurants — as well as her team background as a squash player at Tufts — to excellent use. Able to orchestrate a complex and fast-moving environment, support the team and share in the office’s taste level and obsession with great food, she also brings the PR and marketing sections of her art history major to the table. As a recent college graduate and digital native with endless curiosity around new food, beauty and wellness products, Chloe is also an essential sounding board (and willing guinea pig) for the samples that are constantly arriving in the conference room: “It’s exciting to see what’s next.”

Whether it’s how to think about scaling for the next five years, hiring or liquidity, I use my institutional knowledge to implement ideas that are important but that might not be at the forefront of a founder’s thoughts when they’re looking to raise funding or grow for the next year.”

After graduating with an accounting and finance degree and subsequently receiving his MBA, Jimson spent a decade at Ernst & Young, rising to become a senior manager. After Ernst & Young Jimson joined Tiger Global Management, where he drew upon his expertise in assurance, asset management and alternative investments, and due diligence advisory to support the fund’s infrastructure. Philanthropy has been important to Jimson since college. In addition to advising and mentoring for such organizations as EY Earthwatch and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, he has served on the board of directors for Literacy Inc. and the Boston University Young Alumni Council. Jimson is also a NY State CPA.
